April 6, 2020

UPDATE from BNSW as of 12th February 2021

“To Our Members,

The NSW Government have announced that the following measures will be effective from 12:01 am Friday, 12 February for the Greater Sydney region including Wollongong, Central Coast and the Blue Mountains:

  • 1 person per 2 square metres will apply at all venues, except for gyms. Weddings and funerals will still be subject to a 300 person cap.

  • Masks will only be mandatory on public transport, but will strongly be encouraged in other indoor venues where social distancing is not possible.

Arriving into NSW from interstate: affected areas and places of high concern

The state of Victoria has been declared an affected area.

Anyone arriving in NSW from an affected area by air or rail must;

  • complete a traveller self-declaration form before entering NSW (or on entry into NSW) and

  • carry it with you to show an enforcement officer if requested.

If you have been in an interstate place of high concern within the time specified in a COVID-19 concerns notice (including Holiday Inn Melbourne Airport between 27 January and 9 February), you must not enter NSW unless you are an NSW resident.

If you are an NSW resident you must self-isolate for 14 days and follow the Interstate Traveller Guidelines.

If you have been to any of the case locations in Victoria on the date and time specified you should get tested, and follow advice on testing and isolation on the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services website.

Travellers in NSW who have been in Victoria at any time on or after Friday 29 January 2021 are to remain at home or place of residence for five days as announced by the Victorian Government. These restrictions are effective immediately, and under current arrangements will expire at 11.59 pm on Wednesday 17 February.

Baseball NSW encourages its clubs and members to be aware of any visiting players that may have come from the affected areas and places of high concern and adhere to the protocols set out by the NSW and Victorian Governments.
