Privacy Policy

The Comets Baseball Club Inc. has collected your personal information and, in accordance with its Privacy Policy, will hold it in its secure database.

We consider that holding your personal information is important and we take your right to privacy very seriously.  To this end, we have issued this Privacy Statement to explain why we collect your personal information and how we may use or disclose it.

We collect personal information such as your name, address, age, sex, telephone contact, and membership status.  The full details of the personal information we collect can be found in the questions we ask and/or in the forms you have completed in relation to your membership of the Comets Baseball Club Inc.

In some situations, we may have collected your personal information from a third party such as the competition associations the club plays in or relevant state association.

We collect only the information about you that we need in order to provide you with services within the sport of baseball and to meet our obligations to any relevant government bodies. If you do not provide the personal information we seek, we might not be able to provide you with services relating to participation in the sport of baseball.

All of the personal information we hold about you is held on a password-protected database or in secure files.  Only authorized officers of the Comets Baseball Club Inc. may access the database and only for one of the purposes above. Once we no longer have a need for your personal information we will destroy or de-identify it.

We may also use your personal information for research and to assist us to obtain better information about participants in the sport of baseball.

From time to time, we may disclose your information to certain third parties. If we do this we require these parties to protect your personal information in the same way we do.  The types of organizations we may disclose your personal information to include:

  • external sports industry bodies including but not limited to the Australian Baseball Federation and the Australian Sports Commission.
  • companies with which we are associated in relation to the marketing or operation of baseball
  • government agencies (as part of our regulatory or statutory obligations)

if we collect your information from someone else or another entity, then we may disclose your personal information to that person or entity and your agent.

If you agree to have your personal information included in our database we will take it that you consent to us collecting, using, disclosing and handling your personal information as set out in this Privacy Statement.

You can request access to the personal information we hold about you and you may ask us at any time to correct it where you believe it is incorrect or out of date. We will delete your personal information from our database if you make such a request in writing.

There will be no fee for accessing your personal information.
